With a name like ‘Hidden’, we figured it would be something related to a murder mystery or something like that.

We guess it makes sense once you start diving into the game but Elk really needs to start thinking of better titles.

After the customary 'painfully long loading screen', you can finally dive into the slot. It does a good job of setting up the game though if you love a little storytelling with your slot machines.

In true Elk Studios style, this cutscene gives you in-depth storyline. Turns out some 'totally not Indiana Jones' fella has discovered a map. They are going to a pyramid in Egypt to uncover the 'hidden' secrets.

Once the cutscene worthy of an Oscar nomination is over you are ready to start spinning on the Hidden slot.

Now, Elk Stduios pump out some fantastic looking online slots (think Sam on The Beach slot), but Hidden is one of the best ones they have ever done.

They have really set the bar high for their future work. Everything just looks so clean. They even tidied up their instructions for the game, which helps to round the whole thing out a bit.

Time to investigate the Treasure Rooms

You can trigger an additional free spin each time you get a new magnifying glass. We don't think we have walked out of this feature with anything less than six or seven free spins.

We did expect this slot feature to be a little bit more thematic from Elk Studios. They are the literal gods of slots which don't require a storyline but have one anyway – just look at the classic Ivanhoe 3 reel slot.

But Alas, no. It is just a simple free spins round where you aren't really discovering anything bar some cash prizes.

The feature is nice. We would have enjoyed it more if there were some random multipliers thrown into the mix, just to capture the whole feel of finding hidden treasure a little bit more, but any wins that come from free spins are alright with us.

Well, we assume that you have one. It is going a little bit haywire. Every so often, you will be randomly transported back in time.

When you are, up to three reels will be fully wild for a total of three spins.

You would think that you would walk away with a lot of cash when it comes to a bonus feature like this, but we tended to cap out at about 10x our bet.

The free spins feature is a bit more lucrative

But that’s because you will be triggering those flashback spins more often – a bit like how Baker’s Treat slot has two types of free spins.

When your free wild spins are over, the time machine decides that it works again, and you are transported back into the future.

Again, not thematic with the whole 'hidden' theme, but we don't care that much. It is just a let down from a team that used to do great stories.
