Volcano Riches is probably one of the most beautiful Quickspin slots studios has ever produced, and that is really saying something considering they make some gorgeous slots. However, how does it hold up as a game of luck?

The theme of Volcano Riches is surprisingly well-done. The artwork is sublime, and the soundtrack really ties into the theme of the game, even if does get a little bit repetitive (it is just drums pounding over a catchy tune).

Probably worth pointing out that most of the symbols in this casino game are stacked symbols too, which has allowed Quickspin to get really detailed with the artwork in the game.

The fact that almost all the symbols are stacked really helps to keep down the volatility. This is a low to medium variance slot. You are not going to be getting huge wins, but they seem to come through quite often.

In fact, when we played the real money slot game for this review, we nailed enough wins in 20 spins to break even. This was without triggering the bonus round of the game (more on that in a short while).

The theme is not terribly unique. There are plenty of slots based on Polynesian culture, but we reckon that Volcano Riches slot game is probably the best looking of them.

All about the Volcano Riches slot wilds

One thing we loved about this slot is the 'multiple wilds' feature, even if you are barely going to encounter one of them. It took us a good fifty spins to nail our first 'special wild'.

Not much of an issue since your wins are not going to rely on them, unlike games like Pied Piper or the Northern Sky slot, but we figured that we would point this out.

Your first wild is your standard wild. Nothing too crazy here. It substitutes for most symbols on the reels.

Normal stuff. The second wild looks almost like the first wild, only it is a volcano instead. This triggers what is known as the 'Volcano Wild' feature. This symbol can only appear on the third reel when you are playing the 'base game'.

Whenever the 'Volcano Wild' feature is triggered, up to five wilds will be spat onto the screen, sort-of like lava. You will normally score yourself 2-3 wilds.

It very rarely hits five wilds in our experience, but you will almost certainly win when the symbols land on the reels, though.

There are a couple of differences in the free spins mode in comparison to the 'base game'. The first is that the game will now pay out both ways.

On a low to medium volatility slot, this means that you should be able to get more than just regular wins.

We do wish that there was a multiplier like in the Mermaids Millions slot, mostly because the wins do tend to be a bit on the smaller side, but since these are free spins, we probably can't complain too much.

The second 'change' is that the volcano wild is going to switch up positions. Instead of appearing on the third reel, it now appears on the 2nd and 4th reels.

You could potentially get ten wilds shot onto the screen at once, although this is not something we have seen happen.

Unlike a volcano, it is probably not going to blow your mind. Stacked symbols are fun, but in our opinion, rarely land well enough to make the most of these 40 paylines

The regular wins on the Volcano Riches slot are nice, as are the pay both way reels on the free spin bonus round.

But we wish there was a little more 'substance' to this gorgeous-looking game and will probably head to Mayana slot when we crave exotic spins.
