Expect pretty sparkles and lights, but the grand fireworks are actually few and far between.
You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine with this Boomanji online slot by Betsoft Gaming.
Oh boy, we were so disappointed when we discovered that Boomanji was not some weird sequel to the Jumanji movie.
Not that you should tie in games to children movies, but we can't help but feel that a game based in a jungle like that would be epic. Anyway, we digress. This casino game is as far from Jumanji as possible.
It is about fireworks.
The Boomanji slot is basic. Fireworks on across five reels. Nothing more than that. Couple of animations thrown into the mixture, but don't expect a 4th of July firework display here. More a firework display run by your drunk uncle on New Year's Eve.
What we are saying is that you probably won't care about the fireworks after a couple of seconds.
To be honest, we can't really fathom why Betsoft made a slot based on fireworks. There are close to one billion other themes they could have based the game around before settling on something without much imagination – but then even the Gemix game is a gem bursting rip off of a million mobile apps.
It was probably a quick video slot to make as all they had to do was draw a couple of fireworks and re-skin some of their current video slots, but we are not massive fans of people being lazy. Seriously. We aren't.
It does look good as the Boomanji mobile slot, though. The colours are a lot brighter than if you were on a desktop computer and it should put a reasonable smile on your face… we think.
The only thing that really stands out with this Boomanji slot game is the fact that the slot pays out in both directions, which is not unique but hard to find – Kawaii Kitty is another that comes to mind.
While there are other features built into this casino slot, most you’ve probably seen before.
But when we play a slot, we expect to be wowed. For a slot that is based on something that makes pretty displays and the like, there is not much of a wow factor here.
The Firework Crate is an expanding wild (this is actually thematic as the crates can contain any fireworks). Whenever it appears, it will expand to the entirety of the reel. So, you have three wilds. It does not really deliver that much in the way of wins, but it is nice nonetheless.
But the fact that this slot pays both ways does give you a higher chance of winning something, at least.
Whenever the expanding wild is triggered, you will get a free re-spin with all the wild symbols locked into place during that re-spin. As long as wilds keep appearing, you will continue to get free re-spins. Normally, you will only get 1 or 2.
It is going to be nothing crazy as the wilds only show up on 3 reels.
This is the problem with this Betsoft online game is that it’s not that engaging. It is mindless spinning of the reels and that is it.
We know that some people out there seem to be giving this game good reviews, but we can't.
The only people that we believe this game is good for will be newer players to the slot scene, and they will probably graduate from this Boomanji slot machine pretty quickly.
In her immortal words; ‘baby you're a firework, come on let your colours burst’.
Do we think that it would be good enough for her? Probably. People play any old slot nowadays.
Boomanji does look good, and it does have free spins, so you can't really knock it on that front, but we do wish that there was a little more 'bang' to it.
By all means, give it a spin. However, don't expect to keep you hooked for long, you’ll probably have to move on to Thunderkick’s Toki Time for harder hitting pay both way slot reels.
